The solid reputation of the Hauck name has been built over Generations. In 1954 Don Hauck, an Atlantic City native, decided to go into the demolition business. Hauck Demolition quickly escalated to one of the leading Demolition contractors in Atlantic City. Hauck Demolition had successfully completed many large scale demo jobs like the demolition of an 8 story shoe factory in downtown Atlantic City and a massive airport hangar.
In 1981, Don's son Steve Hauck returned home from the military and followed his father's path in the demolition industry. In 1984 Steve Hauck was approached by one of the contractors he worked for who demanded he move a house for him. Steve set out to speak with some local House movers and studied Ranalli and Sons House moving to learn some more about the trade. Of course the move was a success and the 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch reached its destination from Atlantic City to Pleasantville.
This gave birth to Hauck House Moving. The ability to relocate a great structure that would in turn end up demoed, shed light on the value of relocating homes. Instead of demoing houses, he began moving them. Hundreds and hundreds of houses were moved over the next 12 years. Hauck House Moving became the name known for moving, lifting and shoring structures in the Atlantic and Cape May Counties.
In 1995 Steve decided to take on a new adventure. He moved out west to Colorado to start building and moving modular log cabins deep into the Rocky Mountains. He also moved structures as well, even a 100ft steel truss bridge 200 miles through the mountains where he installed it over the Colorado River.
In 2003 he returned to NJ and partnered up with his son Steve Hauck Jr. and started moving and lifting houses. Being the only insured house moving company in Atlantic County, SJ Hauck House movers quickly became, once again, the most reputable company in the area . When super storm Sandy hit, it devastated SJ Hauck's community. They quickly saw the need for their house lifting services and began to structure there company to keep up with the demand.
In 2015 Steve Hauck Jr. took full ownership of SJ Hauck House movers. Steve Jr. has been in the house moving and lifting field for his entire life. It is his passion and purpose. He is dedicated to his industry and does all he can to improve it. Steve and his team love what they do. It is more than a job to them it is a passion. From lifting houses, moving houses, replacing foundations, helical piles, timber piles, innovative structural shoring, complete turnkey elevation packages and now Modulars, they are dedicated to excellent performance and a satisfied customer on every job.
